When you’re out of options for holiday spot during your stay in Makassar, I recommend you to visit the most famous waterfall in South Sulawesi that has been known for its greatest, the Bantimurung Waterfall.

Bantimurung is located 14 km from Makassar which can be reached by local transportation and private vehicle. But if you had group of friends who also join you to visit it, private vehicle is better choice. You don’t have to be confused of how to get it because once you arrived in Hassanudin Airport of Makassar, there will be lots of rent cars that you can have. The price is also considerably cheap which is about $35 – $45 for 12 hours including for the gas and driver. You can just share the budget with your friends.

What you’ll witness is truly hidden paradise that is still untouched by tourism and yet it’s the main reason that makes it really attractive. Located in eastern Java, Kangean Islands need more efforts to be reached but what you’ll get is totally worth it. I did the journey almost a year ago with limited clues and preferences which I gained from some people who went there before. Now we’ll finally begin Paradise Getaway in Kangean Islands, islands that located in Far East Java and can be reached from Madura. Consists of more than 40 small islands, Kangean gives us breathtaking under sea scenery that is rarely found around Java. If you have visited Karimunjawa and assume that it’s the most beautiful place in Java then you should visit Kangean and witness for yourself that what you’ll see in Kangean is definitely more amazing. It gives you perfect beaches with white sands and thousands of unique species.

Kangean is located in strategic position which is between Bali and Sulawesi, it makes Kangean is rich of unique sea species and various coral reefs spread in almost every spot. From my several journeys to Kangean in the last one year, I’ll share you some perfect spots to enjoy under sea scenes. Wisely, you should start from Pajenassem Harbor, located in Kayu Aru which is an east region in Kangean Island. Most of the spots are near islands so you can just go to the beach after you do snorkeling and diving. Just for information, since it’s untouched with tourism activity, you have to bring your own snorkeling and diving gear such as mask, snorkel, fin, BCD and other diving equipment. Sulawesi is well known as a perfect place to enjoy tropical paradise in Indonesia. In every place in each province, you can always find perfect spot that gives you beautiful beaches and wonderful underwater scenes. So, if you’re about to put Sulawesi as the next holiday destination, I’ll share you some options you can have.

Now, the journey will bring us to South Sulawesi with Makassar as the province’s capital. The tropical paradise called as Tanjung Bira. Once you google it, you’ll be served with amazing pictures of natural beach and with only viewing the pictures, you can soon feel like you’re a part of it or wish to be a part.

Tanjung Bira can be reached from Makassar. There are several choices you have to get there. The first choice is taking a bus that serves route between Makassar-Selayar. You can take the bus from Malengkeri bus station and cost you around $8-$10 one way and you’ll arrived in 5-6 hours. The second choice which is cheaper is by taking the public transportation called as “angkot” and only cost you for $5-$6 one way and you’ll also arrived in 5-6 hours. Both the bus and “angkot” usually leave in the morning, so you’d better wake up early otherwise you’ll miss them.

There’s only one thing to stop people visiting Borobudur temple located in Magelang, Central Java: the Merapi Mount eruption happened on October 2010. The natural disaster was really destructive, and you know how it was if you checked the news out. It was normal when the authority announced the big temple was closed for tourists from both international and domestic because of the eruption brought volcanic material covering the overall body of that temple. Yeah, it was awful, for the material itself was very destructive. Fortunately, everything is safe today, and you can include it as one of the must-visited destinations while scheduling your trip to Indonesia.

Before the eruption, Borobudur was normally visited by 1000-7000 visitors every day, and the numbers were increasing when it was a holiday. You can see at least 9000 people crowded around the giant temple on Sunday or school holidays. Thus, you can just sum the numbers to get the total visitors who came to Borobudur each year. Karimunjawa Gives Days for Forever Holiday

Have you ever imagined that just on Java Sea, hidden paradise is waiting for us to be explored? At first I was only able to imagine it and was quite satisfied to witness the natural beauty of Karimunjawa from televisions, pictures and writings that I found on the internet. All the pictures were amazing. I couldn’t even believe that ocean had really beautiful colors from green, blue into turquoise. I can’t remember how many times I looked into the pictures and every time I did it, I was always amazed. New conscience started to fill my mind, the paradise couldn’t be reached if I were just sitting in front of my computer. Somehow I needed to be there, to feel by myself paradise getaway.

Though Karimunjawa is a part of Jepara administrative region but it can be reached from two places, Tanjung Mas Harbor which is located in Semarang and Kartini Harbor which is located in Jepara. If you would to take the fast boat, Tanjung Mas is the right option to get to Karimunjawa within 3,5 hours. But if you were a backpacker and willing to feel the more traditional boat, ferry that takes 6 hours, you may choose Jepara as your first starting point.
